We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical control panels according to engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Job Responsibility:
Assemble and wire electrical control panels, enclosures, and sub-panels according to engineering blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
Install and connect components such as relays, circuit breakers, switches, transformers, PLCs, and other electrical devices
Perform point-to-point wiring, cable routing, and wire termination with accuracy and neatness
Test and troubleshoot assembled control panels to ensure functionality and compliance with quality standards
Interpret and follow electrical schematics, layout drawings, and technical instructions
Ensure all work complies with company standards, safety protocols, and applicable electrical codes
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to resolve technical issues or discrepancies
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained
Document and report any issues, modifications, or improvements related to the assembly process
Adhere to project deadlines and production schedules while maintaining high-quality workmanship
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
technical training or certification in electrical systems or related fields is a plus
Proven experience as a control panel builder, electrician, or in a similar role
Strong knowledge of electrical components, wiring practices, and control systems
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
Familiarity with electrical standards and codes (e.g., UL 508A, NEC, etc.) is preferred
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or work in various positions for extended periods
Nice to have:
Experience with PLC programming or troubleshooting is a plus
Knowledge of industrial automation systems or related technologies
Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices or continuous improvement processes
