Able to climb towers unassisted up to 300 feet
Able to work safely in a confined space
Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record
Possess demonstrable mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge
Able to work with electrical wires and differentiate between color-coded wires
Able to safely work in a wide range of adverse climates and environments
Able to travel as required
Knowledge of and the ability to use various hand tools

Job Responsibility

Follow safety procedures, observe safe working practices, and maintain a safe working environment
Assist in the performance of wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance
Documents all work performed, parts used, and time spent using computer-based service reporting procedures
Assist in troubleshooting and repair of SCADA communication systems
Operate and maintain a service vehicle
Maintain hand tools in good working order and well-organized
Work a flexible on-call schedule when needed
Willingness to progress as a technician and take guidance from superiors
Help in all areas of site operations as directed by the Site Lead and the Site Manager with minimal supervision
Troubleshoot complicated mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch, variable speed wind turbines

Conducts and reviews safety analyses of potential electrical and mechanical hazards in the wind turbines, switch room, and the O&M building
Trains personnel in the proper use of safety gear, protective equipment, and control of energy sources to ensure work is performed safely
Acts with proficiency at Root Cause Analyses to accurately determine equipment failure and the reason for failures when they occur
Monitors the tool inventory at the wind farm, maintains consumables, and spares parts inventory
Provides leadership to the Service Technicians
Trains and assists the Service Technicians on proper methods for performing preventative maintenance tasks on all wind turbines and associated equipment
