Job Description:

The Service Representative, Brokerage Placement – Commercial Lines will provide policy service and underwriting support by handling policy status requests, certificates of insurance, and risk evaluations while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. This role involves collaborating with agents and partners, managing work priorities to meet service level agreements, and contributing to business growth through exceptional customer service and process improvements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform policy service activities primarily by phone and electronically within established time and service standards
  • Assist underwriters with agency support activities
  • Make decisions to accept, modify, or decline business of lower complexity
  • Research information from multiple sources to support underwriting analysis
  • Review individual risks for acceptability
  • Consult with agents, internal, and external partners regarding customer service activities
  • Plan completion of assignments to meet agreed-upon timelines and service level agreements
  • Provide service to agencies by sharing and requesting information to support the business
  • Maintain and form relationships by providing quality customer service
  • Achieve team goals through developing a profitable book of business and strategically growing both policies in force and premium

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate studies in business administration or related field of study
  • degree (preferred)
  • One year of related insurance experience (preferred) will consider undergraduate degree in lieu of experience
  • P&C License and Surplus Lines License or L&H License in all states (if required by product line) required within 45 days

  • Follow up on open tasks to close in first time-final mode whenever possible
  • Collaborate with brokers and carrier contacts to resolve service issues and clarify requirements
  • Escalate non-routine requests or items requiring broker or carrier review
  • Follow carrier guidelines, state regulations, surplus lines requirements (as applicable to service tasks), and internal procedures
