Come and make a real difference: we’re looking for a Service Manager to help make everyday remarkable for our friendly team in Caernarfon. We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community, as a Service Manager, you can play a vital role in this.

Job Responsibility

  • day-to-day operation and management of two support services where six gentlemen live with varying interests
  • proactively engaging with the continued development of the service
  • provide motivational leadership and direction to your team, enabling them to provide quality, person centred support to the people we support
  • build positive relationships with all stakeholders
  • carry out frequent reviews of the support requirements provided, including service delivery plans, support plans, progress log and risk assessments following the principles and practices of person-centred and relationship-centred Active Support
  • manage a team of support workers with responsibility for all aspects of team management and development
  • encourage and coach them to creatively problem solve and develop

Requirements

  • experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting
  • Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards or willing to)
  • a strong caring nature to support others to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential
  • effective communication and the ability to influence others
  • a working knowledge and understanding of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
  • flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required
  • Welsh language skills so you can effectively communicate with Welsh-speaking service users and meet their cultural and linguistic needs
  • access to your own car and happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities as well as obtaining business insurance for your vehicle for which we pay 45p per mile to cover this
  • a drivers licence and happy to travel for meetings and training
