Job Description

An exciting new opportunity has become available at RA Dalton, leading waste water specialists, for an experienced Service Manager. As a Service Manager you will lead your team to deliver high performance in the areas of scheduling planned preventative and reactive maintenance. Reporting to the senior manager you will support the operational execution of our business strategies. You will be able to manage varied tasks with conflicting priorities, you will have great leadership skills – (our staff are critical to our success), understand complex industry practices, liaise directly with key accounts customers to maintain relationships and ensure high levels of productivity are maintained within your team. You will be committed to providing the highest quality person centered service to both clients and the workforce with customer satisfaction at the heart of your approach. The post holder will be delegated additional responsibilities and or management projects by the Senior Manager.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage service engineers and subcontractors including arranging daily/weekly work schedules, booking accommodation, any hire requirements and providing first line support
  • Resolve operational problems and be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the service team
  • Be a key contact for engineers and subcontractors
  • Be a key contact for customers – dealing with extensive telephone calls, emails and all other enquiries
  • Liaising with customers/suppliers – including booking service visits, dealing with break downs, problems, fault finding, dealing with any complaints, quotations, general enquiries, hiring equipment, supply of parts, etc.
  • Responsible for financial elements of the department including pricing jobs, quotations, costing jobs, preparing for invoicing
  • Ensure the department complies with requirements of H & S and any other policies
  • Ensuring the department meets the needs of company – performance and financials by way of maximising departmental profitability through the sale of labour, parts and materials
  • Maintain office efficiency by ensuring all procedures implemented are adhered to
  • You will be office-based but at times be required for attendance at meetings or events
