The Service Dispatcher is a pivotal analytical role responsible for directing, controlling, and monitoring the activities of our field technicians. This role’s primary functions are scheduling and communicating, requiring a strategic mind to maximize revenue and exceed customer expectations by capably matching the right technician to the right call, optimizing schedules, and developing contingency plans.
Job Responsibility:
Create, maintain, and optimize the daily technician schedule using available dispatch software, ensuring the best utilization of resources and maximizing sold hours
Understand the specific skill level of the technicians and the unique needs of the customer to match them for maximum results (Right Tech to the Right Call)
Accurately estimate drive time to optimize the schedule. Analyze complex scheduling variables (time, distance, skill levels, and job priority) to make correct, quick decisions
Maintain contact with customers throughout the day to manage and exceed their expectations, inform them of the technician’s Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA), and relay any scheduling changes calmly and quickly
Develop and execute contingency plans for busy times, schedule changes, and emergency calls
Obtain and verify payment methods, communicate with inventory and parts personnel, and prepare the schedule for the next workday (supplies, technicians in place, etc.)
Monitor technician performance and record results to contribute to accurate reporting
Requirements:
2 or more years of experience in a Home Service or similar dispatching/coordinating role
Strong administrative ability with advanced computer proficiency
capable of using dispatch software, and able to multitask effectively
Ability to analyze data and make correct decisions quickly and calmly under pressure
Must be Fluent in English and want to communicate with our customers and manage their expectations throughout the day
Bachelor’s degree is preferred
Willingness to submit to a criminal background check and routine drug screens
Must be able to commute to the Houston, TX office for in-person work
