We’re looking for an experienced IS Service Desk Technician to take charge of IT support at our Gold Coast office, supporting our Australian Security business unit. This isn’t a typical service desk role. You’ll be the primary on-site IS representative, working independently to support users, solve problems, and keep the business running — while staying connected to a wider IS team across Australia and globally. You’ll enjoy real autonomy, variety, and the chance to build strong relationships with the business.
Job Responsibility:
Troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues across desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
Supporting Microsoft 365, business applications, and user access
Managing incidents and service requests end-to-end via our ITSM platform
Building, deploying, and maintaining devices and peripherals
Supporting networking, telephony, and meeting room technologies
Providing onboarding support and guidance to new employees
Act as the face of IS on-site, building strong relationships with the Gold Coast team
Work closely with the global IS teams (including Melbourne-based support) on escalations and more complex issues
Identify recurring issues and contribute to improving how we deliver IT support
Requirements:
3–5+ years’ experience in IT Service Desk or End User Support
Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows and business applications
Experience with Microsoft 365 and user/device administration
Confidence managing tickets independently and meeting SLAs
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (Wi-Fi, VPN, TCP/IP)
Proactive, organised, and solutions-focused
Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users
Nice to have:
Experience with Intune, SCCM, Azure/cloud platforms, telephony or AV/conferencing systems, or prior sole-charge IT experience
