Job Description:

The Service Design Manager will lead the design and development of IT services for a European Commission initiative focused on modernizing customs processes. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in IT service design, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and expertise in cloud technologies. The candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, ensure compliance with security policies, and implement best practices for hybrid cloud environments.

Job Responsibility:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT service design or a related role, preferably within a regulatory or international organization
  • ITIL certification (highly desirable)
  • Expertise in server and storage solutions (HDS, Brocade.NetApp, HPE)
  • Experience with networking technologies (Cisco, Juniper Networks)
  • Strong proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware)
  • Knowledge of cloud services (Microsoft Azure, AWS) and backup/recovery solutions (EMC Networker, Veeam, Commvault)
  • Familiarity with security tools (Splunk) and monitoring/management tools (ServiceNow, Dynatrace, Nagios)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams
  • Proficiency in service design and architecture, with a focus on operational efficiency
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional environments
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English

Nice to have:

  • A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred
  • Relevant certifications in cloud and infrastructure technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus
  • Any other European language would be a plus
