The Service Delivery Manager role at NTT DATA involves overseeing strategic onsite operations in Chennai, focusing on client engagement and service delivery governance. This role requires a decisive yet diplomatic leader who can balance high-level stakeholder management with NTT DATA delivery governance. Will be responsible for driving account mining and revenue growth while safeguarding the quality of NTT DATA’s service delivery. This is a Chennai-based position requiring a minimum of 3 days/week at the client site, focusing on resources, sub-contractor management, resource tracking, and cross-functional coordination within the NTT DATA governance framework.
Job Responsibility:
Client proximity and business development: On‑site engagement - Regularly present at the client offices to build trust with senior stakeholders and operational teams
Account growth - Proactively identify upsell, cross‑sell and new project opportunities
collaborate with local and NTT DATA business stakeholders
Stakeholder management - Act as the spoc for NTT DATA & WBG stakeholder
manage expectations, escalate issues, and negotiate scope changes
Visibility & positioning - Represent NTT DATA in governance forums, steering committees and executive reviews
present performance, roadmap and value propositions
Team oversight and transition strategy: Delivery governance - Supervise subcontracted professionals and business partner/third‑party suppliers
ensure SLAs, quality standards and delivery cadence are met
People leadership - Coach and align local delivery leads
manage performance, career progression and local resource planning
Operational controls Implement local reporting, risk registers, change control and cost governance to consolidate revenue and improve margins
Cross‑functional alignment and reporting: Internal coordination - Work closely with NTT DATA stakeholders, HR, Legal, Finance and Global Delivery to operationalize activities
Reporting - Provide weekly on‑site updates, monthly account performance reports and quarterly transition progress to the global account management
Compliance & contract - Support contract negotiations, statement of work definitions and ensure compliance with local labour and procurement policies
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics & Communication/ Information Science/Telecommunications)
12+ years of experience in project management, staffing engagement & governance solutions
Good understanding and hands-on experience delivering enterprise-scale applications and data engineering
Proven knowledge in cloud-native and DevOps-driven environments
Relevant Experience - Minimum 5+ years
Critical thinker and good problem-solver
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good team player, self-starter, and good analytical skills
Good understanding about code quality, security standards, and programing best practices
Certification (added advantage): PMP
ITIL
