We are looking for a passionate and organised Service Delicatessen Manager to lead our experienced, high-performing deli team. Our ideal candidate is passionate about fresh, high-quality food, has strong leadership skills, and is committed to delivering excellent customer service. As the manager of a fresh foods department, you will ensure that food preparation, presentation, and customer service consistently meet our high standards. You’ll be responsible for managing inventory, training staff, maintaining food safety standards, and driving sales growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on fresh, quality foods. This role offers a minimum of 30 guaranteed hours per week. The exact days and hours are negotiable for the successful candidate; however, flexibility is required to cover leave and busy periods. As we operate seven days a week, you will be required to work one weekend day.
Job Responsibility:
Managing and overseeing daily operations of the service deli, ensuring efficient workflow
Supervising, training, and motivating deli staff
Ensuring compliance with our strict Food Control Plan and health and safety regulations
Monitoring product quality, freshness, and presentation to maintain high standards
Planning and managing inventory, placing orders, and minimising waste
Developing and implementing sales strategies to meet and exceed departmental goals
Addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally
Requirements:
Have the ability to lead and inspire a team, ensuring a positive and productive work environment
Be a problem-solver who can adapt quickly to changing situations and customer needs
Be comfortable managing inventory and ensuring products are fresh and fully stocked
Have an understanding of food safety standards and the importance of following regulations
Previous experience in a deli, fresh foods, FMCG, or related environment
Strong & proven leadership and team management skills
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Confidence using a computer, tablet, handheld devices, and SAP
