Job Description

Under general supervision, the Service Coordinator ensures customer expectations are accurately determined and are fully met. The Service Coordinator may support specific customer(s).

Job Responsibility

  • Responds to customer inquires regarding products, provides quotes, and handles order entry
  • Places customer orders via telephone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk in (counter sales)
  • Collects data from Service Technician to quote customer
  • Influences Motion Industries' gross profit through negotiating the sale price and purchase price, within certain parameters
  • May adjust non-contract customer pricing to meet the demands of the customer based on competition, while maximizing the profit for Motion Industries
  • Builds customer relationships to drive repeat business by relating to the customer and drive process improvements
  • Expedites backorders
  • May pull inventory and prepare order for shipment to customer
  • Responsible for sourcing products in branch inventory, distribution center inventory or supplier inventory
  • Responsible for scheduling Service Technician’s time
  • Determines the most cost effective shipping method for customer orders
  • May handle customer returns
  • May support specific customer(s)
  • Tracks and schedules service orders
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Typically requires a high school diploma or GED
  • Engineering technologist diploma or E.I.T (engineering in training) preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Industrial repair shop experience
  • Ability to read/interpret drawings
  • Experience with Microsoft project
  • 2D and/or 3D modeling experience utilizing AutoCAD and any other Autodesk product /certifications
  • Reliability, organization, and attention to detail required
  • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and listening
  • Ability to multi-task and time management skills required
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Basic product knowledge

  • Inform the customer/dealer upon successful completion of the service call and share the signed Service Report via email and update the sheet to mark the case as closed
  • Daily update sales force activities and task within the respective assets and technician visit to maintain transparency and smooth coordination
  • Ensure adherence to defined TAT (Turnaround Time) for all service activities
