The Service Asset and Configuration Management Specialist is responsible for establishing and operating a robust SACM capability, with a strong emphasis on CMDB design, population, data quality, and lifecycle management within ServiceNow. You will work closely with ITSM, ITOM, infrastructure, application, and integration teams to ensure the CMDB becomes a trusted system of record that enables operational excellence, risk reduction, and informed decision-making. This role acts as the functional owner of SACM and CMDB, accountable for outcomes, while partnering with platform, infrastructure, and integration teams for execution. This is a Danaher Corporate on-site role, hosted by our Cytiva operating company in Krakow. This role will partner with Danaher and our operating companies to develop and execute on improvements across the IT Service Asset and Configuration Management and drive standardization where it matters most.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the initial definition and baseline establishment of CMDB scope, standards, and success criteria
Define and maintain the CMDB data source strategy, including authoritative sources, reconciliation rules, and conflict resolution
Drive CMDB adoption and value realization by ensuring data is actively used in Change, Incident, Problem, and reporting workflows
Design and model the CMDB in ServiceNow, including CI classes, relationships, attributes, and lifecycle states, aligned with industry best practices (ITIL, CSDM)
Build and maintain a scalable CMDB that supports complex, multi-technology and multi-organization environments
Define and enforce CMDB governance, including data ownership, stewardship, quality standards, and lifecycle rules
Drive CI lifecycle management across creation, update, audit, and retirement
Partner with ITOM, discovery, and integration teams to populate and reconcile CMDB data from multiple authoritative sources (e.g., discovery tools, integrations, imports)
Establish and monitor CMDB data quality metrics, including completeness, correctness, and compliance
Support ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request) by ensuring accurate CI usage and impact analysis
Lead or contribute to CMDB audits, health checks, and continuous improvement initiatives
Act as a subject matter expert for SACM and CMDB-related topics across the organization
Create and maintain documentation, standards, and operating procedures for SACM and CMDB usage
Support stakeholders with reporting, dashboards, and insights derived from CMDB data
Requirements:
BS or BA degree in a STEM related field or related experience
Minimum 10 years’ experience in service management, operations management, or a related role
Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB, including class modelling, CI relationships, and CMDB health
Ability to operate effectively in a low-maturity or evolving SACM environment, shaping the CMDB capability from the ground up
Proven experience in Service Asset and Configuration Management in medium to large-scale enterprise environments
Solid understanding of ITIL SACM concepts and how they translate into practical, operational solutions
Experience working with complex, federated IT landscapes (multiple platforms, tools, and data sources)
Practical knowledge of CMDB population approaches, including discovery, integrations, and manual data governance
Ability to translate business and technical requirements into effective CMDB models
Strong analytical mindset with attention to data quality and consistency
Experience collaborating with infrastructure, application, security, and ITSM teams
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex CMDB concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Experience with ServiceNow ITOM (Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management)
Familiarity with Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and its application in real-world environments
ITIL certified ideally to Intermediate level, Expert or Managing Professional certification a plus
