A Service Advisor greets customers and listens to their description of the problems or service needed, determines the type of service required, and prepares repair orders. If a vehicle requires additional repairs not covered in the original order, they estimate the additional cost and telephone the customer for permission to do the work, they also advise customers on other available services.
Job Responsibility:
Greet customers, listen to their service needs and concerns
Secure agreement with customers before repairs are started
Determine warranty eligibility
Create and update service orders in the system
Communicate with technicians to relay customer issues and track progress
Provide accurate estimates and timelines for service completion
Follow up with customers regarding service status and approvals
Maintain organized records of service history and customer interactions
Assist with scheduling appointments and managing service calendars
Ensure customer satisfaction through professional and courteous service
Maintain the upkeep of the shop
Assist the Service Manager as needed
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
2 or more years’ minimum experience
preferably in the Heavy-Duty Truck Industry
Valid driver's license and clean driving record, CDL a plus
Sales Skills and ability to make appropriate service recommendations
Basic engine knowledge
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, service software)
Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure
Ability to solve problems in an efficient and effective manner
