The Server's responsibility is to take care of guests in an accommodating and professional manner and to ensure total guest satisfaction. The Server is responsible for a specific station and should always be present on the floor making sure that service runs smoothly. The Server should be knowledgeable and passionate about food, wine, and service in general. He/she will be the main contact and ambassador to guide guests through their meal. The Server must have an ability to lead their team, and will control the pace and flow of all the tables in their station.
Job Responsibility
Responsible for a specific station
Be present on the floor to make sure that service runs smoothly
Serve and clear food in cooperation with the Service Support Staff
Communicate well with the Food Runners, Bussers and Barbacks in order to provide the correct sequence of service
Greet all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness
Engage the guests to create positive dining experiences
Execute on-going, pre- and post-shift side work
Open and close the dining room and beverage station as needed
Be knowledgeable of the dishes on the menu and be prepared to answer any questions from the guests
Requirements
2+ years of experience in a fine dining environment
Extensive knowledge of food and wine
Actively practice food safety procedures
Able to take direction and complete tasks
Organizational skills
Effective time management
Pleasant demeanor and professional composure
Positive and clear written and oral communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to engage guests successfully and build a relationship
