Job Responsibility:
Manage and assume full responsibility of each guest’s dining experience from start to finish with exceptional leadership and organizational skills
Exhibit full knowledge of all food, wine, and spirits offered by the restaurant and combine that knowledge in combination with engaging sales mentality and techniques to guide guests through the menus as part of enhancing dining experience and driving revenue
Engage with clients in a warm, friendly and vibrant manner, in line with Marea service and hospitality style
Multitask between assisting guests, bussing tables, running food and drinks, performing wine service, maintaining water levels, and any other service / operational duties quickly, calmly and seamlessly
Respond immediately to guests needs and requests, and promptly communicate any guest concerns with management, as well as assist in coordinating guest recovery efforts with management
Process all guest orders through the POS system per Marea standards and ensure all food and beverage delivered promptly and accurately
Present accurate guest checks and collect/process full payment for all food and beverage items sold
Seek out guest preferences and convey such information to management and peers, in addition to building a new roster of regular guests by anticipating guest needs and providing engaging, memorable, and personalized service
Report to work punctually as indicated on the schedule and in the correct, clean uniform, while adhering to personal hygiene standards
Requirements:
Substantive prior serving, food running, and bussing experience required
Strong food, wine, and spirits knowledge, as well as comfort performing wine service
Genuine passion for restaurant hospitality and service
Energetic and friendly personality, with strong willingness and ability to work as part of a cohesive team and support colleagues regardless of role, and a positive communication style
Acumen with restaurant technology, such as POS and employee communications systems
Willingness to embrace change and innovation, and to learn and adapt to new systems and service steps
Experience handling guest concerns and thinking creatively and outside the box to meet guests’ needs
Physical requirements include: ability to handle and carry trays, smallware, equipment, or other items up to 35lbs, and to stand, walk up and down stairs, and exert well-paced mobility for extended period of time
