Job Description

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a Server Systems Engineer 2 to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise computer systems. This role is responsible for ensuring system reliability, performance, and security across server and workstation environments. This is a full-time, day shift position (Monday-Friday) located in Anchorage, Alaska. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with system architecture, troubleshooting, and operational support within a dynamic technical environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Design and define system architecture for new and existing computer systems
  • Maintain and support enterprise computer systems, including configuration, updates, and overall system health
  • Provide technical support across networks, software, hardware, system configurations, and architectures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex hardware and software issues
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain operating systems and layered software packages
  • Monitor and optimize system performance to ensure efficiency and reliability
  • Ensure system and data integrity through implementation of standard hardware and software solutions
  • Execute and maintain system backups and database archive operations to support data recoverability
  • Conduct hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
  • Support system security and performance to meet user and operational requirements
  • Evaluate existing systems and contribute to long-term planning and technical strategy
  • Train end users on proper use of hardware and software
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed
