Job Description:

The Server Engineer (L2) at NTT DATA is responsible for managing Level 2 technical incidents and service requests related to server and infrastructure systems. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills in Linux and Windows environments, along with experience in virtualization platforms. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience. The position involves working in a fixed shift environment, including weekends, and requires good communication skills for coordination and escalation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Handle L2 incidents and requests escalated from L1 or received directly via Hotline
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues related to OS, servers, virtualization, network connectivity, and system services
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, log analysis, and root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Provide resolution or workaround within agreed SLA
  • escalate to L3/vendor when required
  • Support installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of server systems
  • Operate and maintain Linux and/or Windows Server environments
  • Operate and maintain Virtualization platforms (VMware / Hyper-V / KVM)
  • Operate and maintain Backup, restore, and storage systems
  • Coordinate with Network, Security, Application, and Cloud teams during incident resolution
  • Participate in incident review, problem management, and preventive actions
  • Maintain operational documents, SOPs, and knowledge base articles
  • Support DR/BCP testing and production system maintenance activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields
  • 2–5 years of experience in Server / System / Infrastructure Operations
  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and/or Windows Server
  • Strong hands-on experience with Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Firewall concepts)
  • Experience working in L2 support, NOC, Hotline, or 24x7 operation environment
  • Comfortable working in fixed shifts including weekends
  • Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple incidents
  • Good communication skills for coordination and escalation
  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility
  • Ability to work independently during shifts
  • Good at English communication

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Familiar with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
  • Relevant certifications: RHCSA/RHCE, MCSA, CCNA, ITIL Foundation
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation in English
