As a Server Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by supporting both front-of-house and heart-of-house teams. Whether in our vibrant Notch8 restaurant or intimate speakeasy setting, your contributions will help ensure seamless service, elevated hospitality, and memorable moments for every guest.

Job Responsibility:

  • Consistently provide thoughtful, professional, and proactive guest service
  • Ensure service standards and quality are maintained throughout the guest journey, from arrival to departure
  • Prepare mise en place, side stations, tables, and table settings according to established standards
  • Support service flow by assisting colleagues, including running food, refreshing beverages, and clearing/resetting tables
  • Maintain a clean, inviting, and well-organized dining and lounge environment
  • Build strong knowledge of menus, beverage offerings, promotions, and preparation methods
  • Assist guests with menu selections in an engaging, informed, and helpful manner
  • Address guest concerns promptly and graciously, demonstrating strong service recovery skills
  • Communicate guest dietary restrictions and allergies clearly and accurately to the team
  • Deliver personalized and elevated service for special events or private dining experiences when scheduled
  • Stay informed on current promotions and loyalty program offerings
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards when handling food and beverages
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A service-focused personality with at least one year of experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel environment (preferred)
  • The ability to focus on guest needs, remaining calm, courteous, and professional at all times
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining service standards
  • A collaborative team spirit and the ability to work effectively with others
  • High responsibility and reliability, with impeccable grooming and professionalism
  • Knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, cocktails, and specialty coffees
  • Valid Serving It Right Certification
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and rotating shifts
  • Professional proficiency in English, both spoken and written
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
