As a Server Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by supporting both front-of-house and heart-of-house teams. Whether in our vibrant Notch8 restaurant or intimate speakeasy setting, your contributions will help ensure seamless service, elevated hospitality, and memorable moments for every guest.
Job Responsibility:
Consistently provide thoughtful, professional, and proactive guest service
Ensure service standards and quality are maintained throughout the guest journey, from arrival to departure
Prepare mise en place, side stations, tables, and table settings according to established standards
Support service flow by assisting colleagues, including running food, refreshing beverages, and clearing/resetting tables
Maintain a clean, inviting, and well-organized dining and lounge environment
Build strong knowledge of menus, beverage offerings, promotions, and preparation methods
Assist guests with menu selections in an engaging, informed, and helpful manner
Address guest concerns promptly and graciously, demonstrating strong service recovery skills
Communicate guest dietary restrictions and allergies clearly and accurately to the team
Deliver personalized and elevated service for special events or private dining experiences when scheduled
Stay informed on current promotions and loyalty program offerings
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards when handling food and beverages
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
A service-focused personality with at least one year of experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant
Previous experience in a luxury hotel environment (preferred)
The ability to focus on guest needs, remaining calm, courteous, and professional at all times
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining service standards
A collaborative team spirit and the ability to work effectively with others
High responsibility and reliability, with impeccable grooming and professionalism
Knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, cocktails, and specialty coffees
Valid Serving It Right Certification
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and rotating shifts
Professional proficiency in English, both spoken and written
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
