The Server Assistant provides support to the Server and Bartender Teams. The SA engages with our Resort Guests and Owners in a hospitable, professional and respectful manner. These tasks will be assigned by the shift and include Food/Drink Runner, Bussing, Bar Backing and general tasks assigned by the Restaurant Leadership.
Job Responsibility:
Follow All SOP's assigned for the position assigned for each shift
Complete all Shift Checklists assigned by leadership daily
Responsible for keeping a clean and organized work environment at all times
When Assigned as Food Runner: Review all orders in the pass thru and confirm with the Expo that the order is ready to be delivered to the table
Greet the table by introducing yourself by name and confirming the guests name on the order
Deliver all food and beverages in a professional manner and confirm with the guests that everything that has been ordered is correct
Ask all guests in the party if there is anything else you can bring for the table and then return if items requested immediately
Please notify the restaurant leadership of any issues with guests' food order or service immediately
Once the delivery of items and all food/beverages ordered are completed thank the guests and wish them an enjoyable meal
On your return trip to the Food Expo or Service Bar 'Pre-Buss' any items at tables in that path that are no longer needed by guests and return to the busser station or dish area
When Assigned as a Busser: You will be assigned a group of server sections to keep clean and stocked your entire shift
You will be responsible to keeping the sections cleared of any unused service ware
You will be responsible for keeping the floor area under tables and in the sections free of debris and clean with dustpan and broom and if needed moping of spilled items
While 'Bussing/Clearing' items from tables/sections with guests please introduce yourself and ask he guests how their dining experience was
You will be responsible for keeping the busser stations stocked with cleaning materials and ensuring that no waste is overflowing from tubs or receptacles
Perform other duties as requested by management
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field is preferred
Minimum of one-year previous experience as a server or server assistant in an upscale restaurant, hotel/resort or private club environment preferred
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be 18 years old or older to hold this role, serving/selling alcohol in state of FL
Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations)
Food Handlers Certification (must comply with State regulations)
Fluent in English language, must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
Comprehend reading materials, speak, read and write English
Must be physically able to safely lift and carry trays, kegs and cases weighing up to 50lbs several times during the course of a shift
Must be able to use stairs while carrying trays of food or cocktails
Must be able work in different types of weather, including high temperatures
