Job Description:

We are looking for a results-driven and highly-skilled SEO Product Manager to join the team at Marktplaats. As an SEO Product Manager, you will lead the strategy, execution, and evolution of SEO initiatives across our platform. You’ll work across departments to drive organic growth, translate SEO opportunities into business outcomes, and turn them into aligned company OKRs. You will play a key role in Marktplaats’ journey toward Generational Engine Optimization (GEO), helping position our platform as the go-to destination for second-hand and marketplace transactions in the Netherlands. You’ll collaborate with top professionals, use advanced SEO and analytics tools, and work on one of the most visited websites in the country.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead SEO roadmap development, prioritisation, and execution for Marktplaats
  • Identify and act on strategic opportunities to increase visibility and engagement
  • Conduct deep keyword research, competitive benchmarking, and content performance analysis
  • Audit and optimise site structure, internal linking, indexing, and crawlability at scale
  • Act as a Product Manager, working together with engineers to identify and solve technical SEO issues
  • Drive GEO (Generational Engine Optimization) to build long-term, sustainable organic success
  • Track performance using tools like Google Search Console, BigQuery, and analytics platforms
  • Work with marketing and product stakeholders to align content and product initiatives with SEO goals
  • Translate insights from web crawlers (e.g., Botify, OnCrawl) into actionable recommendations
  • Stay current with search trends, Google algorithm changes, and SEO best practices at enterprise scale

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital marketing, communications, or a related field – or equivalent working experience
  • 5+ years of experience in SEO roles, ideally within marketplace environments
  • Strong knowledge of technical SEO, web performance, structured data, and Core Web Vitals
  • Proficiency with key SEO and analytics tools (e.g., GSC, GA4, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog)
  • Experience working with large datasets using BigQuery or similar tools for SEO analysis
  • Knowledge of web-based crawlers like Botify or OnCrawl is a strong plus
  • Solid understanding of how to influence organic performance through collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and reporting skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience with enterprise SEO at scale: crawl management, canonical strategies, parameter handling, and faceted navigation
  • Experience turning SEO findings into measurable business OKRs
  • Understanding of CRO, UX, and A/B testing from an SEO impact perspective
  • Strong project management capabilities, with experience handling multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Ability to bring a strategic vision while executing hands-on SEO tasks when needed
  • Knowledgeable about AI tools and processes for driving SEO and growth at scale
What we offer:
  • An attractive Base Salary
  • Participation in our Short Term Incentive plan (annual bonus)
