Job Responsibility

  • Employee will provide support to the NGA Integration Test and Image Quality Office (TAC) which is the primary integration testing and quality assurance organization
  • Employee will assist with providing independent verification and validation of software and hardware, and information system releases prior to operations
  • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts
  • Working under only general direction, provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions
  • Sources, selects, and qualifies components used in the company’s technology
  • Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies, reducing cost and improving quality and reliability
  • Acts as technical interface between component/production suppliers and development engineers, determining new and alternate sources
  • Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability, and implements changes
  • Develops guidelines/procedures on vendor selection
  • Evaluates supplier change notification and qualifies changes, as needed

Requirements

  • Must possess and have the ability to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Poly
  • BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2
  • Bachelor's degree in Imaging Science, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics or related STEM field
  • Working knowledge of Image Quality Equations (IQEs) to include creation and application
  • Creation of and development of algorithm assessments
  • Techniques for correction of system anomalies and artifacts
  • Experience with creation of imagery evaluations, image quality studies, new product/sensor initializations, product algorithm assessments, and the development of image quality equations
  • Working knowledge and practical application of modeling components of the image creation path to include sensor, detector, atmospheric, and material properties
  • Experience with imaging systems to include PAN, IR, MSI/HSI, RADAR, and LIDAR, on both space or airborne platforms
  • Simulation and modeling experience and ability to develop algorithm description documentation for software development
  • Working knowledge of various basic ELTs, Matlab, and mathematics/equations/functions
  • Basic knowledge of sensor types to include airborne, space-borne, and FMV
  • A specialist on complex technical and business matters
  • Able to develop and use more complex concepts and processes, conduct root cause problem analysis and develop technical solutions to problems
  • Guides and supports junior level personnel
  • Proactive in handling taskings, requires minimal guidance and only when dealing with new, uncertain, undefined or undeveloped tasks
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Proficient in oral and written communication skills
