Seniors CareShare Program Facilitator

• Conducting outreach to promote the Program at various locations
• Building relationships to identify and recruit caregivers (55+) to join the program
• Developing and maintaining partnerships and collaborating with agencies to support service delivery
• Organizing and leading weekly group sessions for program participants
• Delivering safe, inclusive activities using Alzheimer and dementia‑friendly practices
• Providing resources to promote program activities and arranging for guest speakers
• Coordinating the volunteer schedule and supervising volunteers during program activities
• Tracking participation, activities, and outcomes, and completing required program reports and documentation

• A certificate, diploma or degree in a related field or an acceptable combination of training and/or experience
• Experience in planning and organizing activities and/or events
• Experience working with databases to input and track data and create reports
• Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s License
• Knowledge of community resources and community partners in the Abbotsford area which provide support to seniors
• Skills in group facilitation and activity planning skills
• Knowledge of aging, dementia, and Alzheimer-friendly practices
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Organization and time management skills
• Reporting and documentation abilities
• Ability to travel within the community to outreach locations
• Skills with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook
• Ability to use databases to input data and generate reports
• Empathy and understanding when working with seniors and caregivers
• Ability to actively engage groups and create welcoming, inclusive activities
• Ability to be collaborative and approachable and work well with community partners, volunteers, and caregivers in a team environment
• The use of a personal vehicle is required for program-related driving
• must be able to be insured according to Archway’s transportation policy
• The ability to lift or carry items up to 50lbs may be required
• Willing to obtain Emergency First Aid and CPR/AED
• A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Experience working with seniors or community groups is an asset
