Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior z/OS Mainframe Systems Administrator to support and maintain a mission-critical mainframe environment. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in z/OS administration, TSS (Top Secret Security), system utilities, networking, and performance monitoring, with the ability to support secure, high-availability enterprise systems.

Job Responsibility:

  • Administer and support z/OS mainframe environments, ensuring system stability, performance, and security
  • Manage and support Top Secret Security (TSS), including access controls, security policies, and compliance
  • Administer JES2, z/OS Unix System Services (OMVS), and Storage Management Subsystem (SMS)
  • Configure and maintain TLS/SSL security, including certificate management, RSA keys, SFTP, and FTPS
  • Monitor system performance using tools such as RMF, SMF, and WLM, and perform initial analysis of performance issues
  • Support z/OS networking, including VTAM and TCP/IP configurations
  • Manage automated job scheduling and workload management using tools such as JOBTRAC
  • Apply system maintenance and upgrades using SMP/E
  • Support VSAM datasets, JCL, TSO, and GRS for daily operations
  • Utilize terminal emulator tools such as BlueZone and VTAM/SWITCH for system access and session management
  • Support and administer Informatica PowerExchange (preferred)
  • Develop and maintain scripts using REXX (preferred)
  • Collaborate with application teams, security teams, and infrastructure teams to resolve system issues and implement improvements
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security, audit, and operational standards

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with TSS (Top Secret Security)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering z/OS environments
  • 5+ years of experience with JES2, OMVS, and SMS
  • 3+ years of experience with TLS configuration, including certificates, SSL, RSA keys, SFTP, and FTPS
  • Strong working knowledge of: z/OS operations
  • z/OS networking (VTAM, TCP/IP)
  • JCL, VSAM, TSO, GRS
  • RMF, SMF, WLM
  • SMP/E
  • Job scheduling tools (JOBTRAC)
  • Terminal emulation tools (BlueZone)

Nice to have:

  • Experience with REXX scripting
  • Experience with performance monitoring and tuning
