Job Description

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Windows System Administrator to take ownership of maintaining, optimizing, and securing their Microsoft-based infrastructure. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring high system availability, supporting enterprise applications, and leading initiatives to enhance performance, scalability, and automation across the IT environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage, monitor, and maintain Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) and Active Directory infrastructure
  • Administer and support Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core Windows services
  • Oversee patch management, system upgrades, and performance tuning to ensure optimal uptime and security
  • Manage virtualization environments (VMware or Hyper-V) and perform regular capacity planning and optimization
  • Implement and support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
  • Partner with Security teams to maintain compliance and implement security best practices across all systems
  • Develop automation scripts and tools using PowerShell or similar scripting languages to streamline administrative tasks
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and escalation support for complex system and application issues
  • Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and operational standards
  • Mentor junior system administrators and contribute to process improvements and technology roadmaps

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of experience in Windows system administration in an enterprise environment
  • Strong expertise with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 administration
  • Experience managing virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V)
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and task automation
  • Knowledge of cloud environments (Azure or AWS) and hybrid integrations is preferred
  • Familiarity with security frameworks, patching tools, and monitoring systems (e.g., SCCM, SolarWinds, or equivalent)
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
