Job Description:

Rebellion Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Web Developer to play a critical role in the development and maintenance of our high-traffic, scalable web applications. A Senior Web Developer at Rebellion Group needs not just familiarity, but deep, expert-level knowledge across the full technology stack, coupled with a strong understanding of architecture, performance, and team collaboration tools. You must demonstrate a proven ability to work independently, take ownership, and manage project timelines effectively, you should be comfortable with the unknown. You will be a key technical leader, responsible for setting coding standards, mentoring team members, and tackling the most complex technical challenges.

Job Responsibility:

Design, architect, and develop highly performant, scalable, and secure web applications
Lead the technical planning and execution of large, complex features and projects
Define and enforce coding standards, development best practices, and secure coding principles across the team
Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure high code quality and maintainability
Drive the evaluation and adoption of new technologies, frameworks, and tools
Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and testable code for both front-end and back-end components
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex production issues and performance bottlenecks
Ensure application stability, speed, and security through continuous testing and optimization
Collaborate with Project Managers and UX/UI Designers to translate user stories and wireframes into technical specifications and functional user interfaces
Support the creation of detailed technical and user documentation
Code Review and PRs

Requirements:

Mastery of HTML5 & CSS3 including semantic markup, accessibility (WCAG), modern CSS frameworks
Deep understanding of JavaScript, asynchronous programming, closures, promises/async/await, and TypeScript
Expertise in at least one major front-end framework (React, Vue.js)
Expertise in a server-side language/runtime (Node.js (Express), Python, PHP (WordPress, Laravel methodologies))
Strong command of both relational and non-relational databases (SQL Databases, NoSQL Databases)
Mastery of designing and building efficient, secure APIs (RESTful APIs, GraphQL)
Complete mastery of Git and platforms like GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket
Familiarity with major cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and core services
Hosting Infrastructure support - WPEngine, DigitalOcean, Netlify
Understanding of SSH & SFTP/FTP functions and setting up accounts and servers
Understanding of domain and hosting functions
Knowledge of setting up/importing/exporting databases for CMS setups and transfers
Understanding of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
Ability to implement architectural patterns like Microservices, Serverless, Monoliths, and Headless CMS
Knowledge of meta-frameworks such as Next.js or Nuxt
CMS - WordPress, Concrete CMS, Shopify and familiarity with various other CMS solutions
Experience with static site generators such as Eleventy or Jekyll
Experience supporting QA test automation
Developing accessible (WCAG 2.0 - 2.2 standards, A & AA level compliance) websites
Web Performance Optimization (WPO) techniques
Knowledge of security best practices (OWASP Top 10)
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proven leadership and project coordination experience
Work with other Rebels and clients to identify business requirements and draft project definitions
Perform to high quality standards while understanding the importance of meeting client delivery deadlines and budgets
A passion for continuous learning and staying current with emerging web technologies and industry trends including coding with AI
