Job Description

Join Houston Engineering, Inc. (HEI) as a Water Resources Engineer and put your knowledge and skills into action to solve complex water management issues involving both water quantity and quality. Likely Water Resource projects this role will be involved in are: hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, storm water planning, stream restoration, design of flood reduction and water quality improvements, and watershed-scale plans and studies.

Job Responsibility

  • Write, develop, organize, and review project studies, reports, and design documents for water resources projects
  • Provide field services and construction oversight for water resources projects such as dams, levees, streams, and lakes
  • Be a mentor and develop younger engineers to become effective water resource modelers, designers, planners, and project managers
  • Engage in public speaking regarding civil engineer water resources projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering, Bioproducts and Biosystem Engineering, or related Engineering field
  • 8+ years of experience in water resources engineering, preferably in the Midwest
  • ND Professional Engineer’s License or the ability to obtain one within 6 months
  • Interest in leading others and pursuing continual growth as a leader
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel periodically
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future
