Job Description

As Senior Wastewater Treatment Plant Engineer, you will plan, design, permit and perform construction phase services on a host of water/wastewater infrastructure projects for public/private clients with an emphasis on wastewater treatment plants. You will oversee a team and have frequent interaction with both clients, public entities and permitting agencies as well as engage in business development and client relationship management efforts for the division as directed by leadership.

Job Responsibility

  • Apply engineering principles to plan, design, and develop wastewater treatment plants and water/wastewater infrastructure such as pumping stations and distribution and collection systems
  • Coordinate projects with Owner/Client and other disciplines as necessary to produce the project
  • Identify and apply for all regulatory permits for local, state, and federal regulations and construction requirements
  • Prepare all necessary calculations
  • Develop concept reports and project models
  • Produce project plans and specifications
  • Manage and communicate project schedule to achieve project milestones and deliverables
  • Oversee project bidding and construction administration phases
  • Serve as primary point of contact and project liaison to assist with the resolution of construction issues and conduct site observations
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members and other appropriate employees

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
  • PE license in SC and/or GA with expectation to achieve both
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in the design and implementation of wastewater and water projects inclusive of water supply distribution systems and wastewater collection systems
  • 5+ years of experience designing and permitting wastewater treatment plants
  • Project engineer and/or engineer of record on a minimum of 3 wastewater treatment plants
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit/BIM software
  • Knowledge of Civil 3D software
  • Working knowledge and application of Sewer and/or Water GEMS and WaterCAD software

Nice to have

  • Master’s Degree in Environmental field, Management or MBA a plus
  • Advanced leadership skills as either a technical leader and/or project manager of complex projects
  • Experience managing a team of engineers
