Job Description:

Our client, with locations in the DMV area, is currently in need of TS/SCI FS Poly cleared Senior VMware Technical Project Managers for an 8 month contract with potential for extensions. The consultant will work primarily onsite with some remote managing virtualization projects within Federal professional services organization.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan, coordinate, track and manage project(s) to successful completion
  • Develop and maintain project plans including charter, scope, work breakdown structures, estimates, resource plans, budget, task dependencies, schedule, open issues, and risk assessment, management and mitigation plans across multiple work streams
  • Work with resource managers, technical staff and business subject matter experts to orchestrate project delivery to ensure projects are delivered and executed in alignment with the overall project plan, driving customer outcomes, and customer satisfaction
  • Define and manage overall project risks and take corrective action in a proactive manner to mitigate risks and prevent issues
  • Direct and monitor work efforts on a daily basis, identify resource needs, perform quality review
  • and escalate functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately
  • Provide clear and timely communication regarding the status of the project – schedule, budget, progress to date, risks etc. – to relevant stakeholders
  • Follow our client’s project management methodology and ensure that projects adhere to the defined methodology and stage gate process
  • Engage with sales and account teams to identify/drive account growth opportunities
  • Drive continuous improvement of project processes – methodology, templates, best practices etc. based on lessons learned from projects

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ technical project management experience in a professional services organization
  • Customer facing experience required
  • Previous experience leading VMware projects
  • Strong experience developing and maintaining project plans including charter, scope, work breakdown structures, estimates, resource plans, budget, task dependencies, schedule, open issues, and risk assessment, management and mitigation plans across multiple work streams
  • Experience working in NIPR/SIPR environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Agile experience
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance or higher
  • Ability to work onsite as needed in the DMV area with expenses covered

Nice to have:

  • Experience leading projects in JIRA
  • Ideally have knowledge of Agile Delivery Management
  • Previous experience working within VMware/Broadcom PSO
  • PMP certified
  • Agile/SCRUM certifications
