Job Description:

Seeking a highly skilled specialist responsible for backup systems, tape storage, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), and the transition of VMware Horizon environments to a cloud-based platform. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and modernizing infrastructure with a strong focus on VMware Cloud technologies and enterprise backup solutions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage and support VMware-based environments, including migration to VMware Cloud platforms
  • Lead or contribute to the transition of VMware Horizon VDI to cloud-based solutions
  • Administer and optimize enterprise backup systems, including Dell EMC Networker
  • Oversee backup, recovery, and tape storage operations to ensure data integrity and compliance
  • Design and implement backup strategies aligned with cloud integration and modernization efforts
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and data protection issues
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure secure, scalable, and efficient IT operations

Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in VMware Cloud technologies (VMware Cloud, vSphere, Horizon)
  • Strong hands-on experience with backup and recovery solutions, specifically Dell EMC Networker
  • Experience with virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments
  • Knowledge of cloud migration strategies and hybrid infrastructure
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Active Government of Canada security clearance (must be valid at time of submission)

Nice to have:

  • Experience working in federal government or highly regulated environments
  • Familiarity with enterprise storage systems and tape backup solutions
  • Certifications in VMware or backup technologies
