This position offers a rare opportunity to lead one of the most sophisticated outpatient oncology systems in the Southwest, serving the Greater Phoenix area through a professional services agreement and a collaborative management services agreement with HonorHealth, a nationally recognized, non-profit health system committed to quality and innovation. The Senior Vice President, Oncology Operations serves as the executive leader overseeing all outpatient oncology operations across Arizona Center for Cancer Care (AZCCC) and its aligned health system environment. This role provides strategic and operational oversight of medical oncology, radiation oncology, infusion services, hospital outpatient department clinics, physician practices, and oncology research. Operating within a physician-partner ownership model structured through Professional and Medical Services Agreements, the SVP ensures financial discipline, contractual compliance, operational scalability, and alignment with physician governance and system expectations. The role is accountable for enterprise oncology strategy, operational performance, staffing models, credentialing integrity, regulatory compliance, and overall financial and quality outcomes to support efficient, patient-centered cancer care delivery. This role reports to the Chief Administrative Officer.
Job Responsibility:
Provides executive oversight of all oncology operations across Arizona Center for Cancer Care, including Medical Oncology and Hematology, Radiation Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, Infusion Services, PET/CT imaging, and the Clinical Trials and Research program
Partners directly with physician owners, executive committee, and C-suite leadership to operationalize clinical vision, align infrastructure with practice patterns, and advance physician productivity across all oncology service lines
Leads enterprise oncology operations within the HonorHealth aligned environment, ensuring physician services delivered under Professional Services Agreements and clinic operations governed by Medical Services Agreements are operationally optimized, contractually aligned, and fully supported
Serves as the primary operational advisor to oncology physicians, providing data-driven guidance on access, capacity management, staffing models, site-of-service strategy, and performance optimization
Directs multi-site operational performance across freestanding and hospital outpatient settings, optimizing throughput, infusion chair utilization, radiation scheduling efficiency, and diagnostic coordination
Aligns APP deployment, supervision structures, and collaborative practice models with physician direction, PSA obligations, and regulatory requirements
Partners with HonorHealth executive leadership to resolve operational barriers, coordinate clinic integration, and drive service line growth across the integrated oncology network
Participates in joint operating committees and governance forums to ensure coordinated execution and accountability under Professional Services Agreements and Medical Services Agreements
Collaborates on site-of-service strategy, expansion planning, infusion capacity management, and physician workforce planning across hospital-affiliated and outpatient environments
Oversees operational readiness for physician recruitment, credentialing alignment, site activation, and program expansion to ensure seamless onboarding and rapid clinical integration
Integrates oncology research operations into physician practice workflows to enhance clinical trial enrollment while preserving care delivery efficiency
Establishes enterprise performance accountability across oncology divisions, focusing on physician engagement, patient access, operational discipline, and quality outcomes
Provides executive leadership to Practice Administrators and operational directors while maintaining direct, collaborative relationships with oncology physicians
Represents AZCCC physician-partner operational priorities in enterprise-level oncology strategy discussions while maintaining strong system alignment with HonorHealth
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field strongly preferred
advanced executive education or equivalent enterprise leadership experience required
12 plus years of progressive healthcare leadership experience
at least 7 years in oncology, multi-site specialty practice, or hospital-aligned service line operations
demonstrated experience operating within physician-owned or physician-governed practice models
demonstrated ability to direct complex outpatient oncology operations, including infusion services, radiation oncology workflows, hospital outpatient department integration
demonstrated ability to lead multi-site operational teams, establish performance accountability, and advance physician productivity across service lines
demonstrated ability to participate in and influence executive governance structures, joint operating committees, and enterprise-level strategy discussions
