With our team of Vehicle AI engineers, architects, and platform developers, you will contribute to making our vehicles truly intelligent. You will shape data models and software architecture, determine and drive the implementation of in-vehicle software platforms with a strong focus on connecting Autonomous Driving and Real-Time Systems with other domains contributing to a great customer experience. Your work directly influences how BMW vehicles perceive, reason, and act in complex, real-world environments.

Job Responsibility:

  • Define the core semantic ontology and context data models that empower our future agentic AI for Autonomous Driving and Real-Time systems
  • Drive the implementation of advanced data infrastructure functions from concept to SOP as a Project Lead
  • Design and implement a multi-level memory concept, enabling vehicles to learn and retain context across real-time and long-term horizons with particular focus on connecting to our in-vehicle speech assistant
  • Orchestrate the seamless integration of ML, GenAI, and symbolic reasoning rules to curate and foster the semantic context as "brain" for the vehicle
  • Develop the overarching data model strategy required for fine-tuning SLMs and VLMs for agentic applications in the Autonomous Driving and Real-Time system domain
  • Select the technology stack (in-vehicle and toolchain) and creating high-quality reference datasets that define our AI performance

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, AI, or a related field
  • At least 3 years track record of managing technical projects and driving cross-functional teams toward a common architectural goal
  • Deep expertise in Knowledge Graph technologies, specifically SparQL, RDF, and GraphQL
  • Intimate familiarity with embedded systems and how to map physical signals to semantic meaning
  • In-depth understanding of Agentic AI architecture, including memory management, tool-use, and multi-agent orchestration
  • Solid grasp of modern programming languages like Rust and Python, with a keen understanding of both embedded constraints and high-level AI frameworks
  • Passion for data quality and experience in designing complex information flows that fuel modern ML pipelines
