Act as the lead technical and solution expert during the sales process, shaping the solution strategy for high-impact opportunities
Partner with Account Executives to qualify customer needs and demonstrate the value and ROI of the BlackLine Intercompany platform
Lead technical discovery sessions to understand a customer’s unique financial landscape, including their ERP systems (with an emphasis on SAP), data governance, and compliance requirements
Design and present compelling, fit-for-purpose solution architectures and custom demonstrations that address complex intercompany challenges
Translate customer business goals into scalable, compliant, and automated solution blueprints
Collaborate with our Implementation, Partner, and Customer Success teams to ensure a seamless transition from pre-sale to post-sale
Provide prescriptive guidance on best practices for integrations, data management, and change management
Serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite leaders and finance, tax, and IT executives, sharing insights on automation trends and financial transformation
Share valuable field insights with our Product Management team to help inform the future direction of our platform
Contribute to BlackLine's thought leadership by participating in webinars, events, and other strategic advisory activities
Requirements
Significant experience in a pre-sales, solution architecture, or consulting role within the enterprise software (SaaS) or ERP ecosystem
Deep functional expertise in Intercompany Accounting, Financial Close, or related Tax/Treasury operations
A strong understanding of ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and the principles of data integration
The ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, value-oriented business outcomes for both technical and non-technical audiences
Proven success in designing and architecting complex financial or accounting solutions
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust and influence senior stakeholders
A "seller's mentality" with a passion for strategic problem-solving and a focus on driving customer success
Experience in optimizing business processes and an ability to think strategically about a customer's long-term goals
A collaborative mindset, with a history of working effectively across multiple departments (Sales, Product, Customer Success)
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA is a plus)
