Job Description:

We're seeking a Senior UX Writer (contractor, remote) to help us craft how travelers experience KAYAK through language. The role involves writing user-centered copy, supporting onboarding flows, making data-driven improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibility:

Work mainly with our Product Marketing & UX teams
Craft and optimize product copy, write thoughtful, traveler-first messaging across web, app, and email
Support onboarding and education flows through tooltips, modals, and walkthrough copy
Experiment and test by partnering with product marketing and UX research
Collaborate across teams including Designers, PMs, Brand, and Localization teams to ensure messaging consistency

Requirements:

5+ years of proven experience in UX writing or product content design
Native-level fluency in English
Can adhere and align writing with an established brand tone of voice
A portfolio that shows smart, user-centered copy across digital platforms
Experience in travel, e-commerce, or data-rich products is a plus
Strong systems thinker - you know how to scale messaging with documentation
Comfortable working with data, A/B tests, and UX research insights and crafting easily-followed measurement tracking for results
Clear communicator and natural collaborator
Self-directed, remote-ready, and good with async workflows
Bonus points if you’ve used Figma, Jira, Slack, a CMS, or localization tools
Available for 10-20 hours per week with the ability to increase

Nice to have:
