Uber is looking for a Senior UX Researcher to be the strategic voice of Motorcycles (Moto) across our global platform. Moto isn't just a product at Uber; it’s a high-growth phenomenon that redefines how millions of people navigate congested cities. As our Senior UXR, you won’t just conduct studies—you will own the research vision for a global portfolio. You will dive deep into the interconnected world of Safety, Marketplace, and Earner/Rider experiences, transforming raw human insights into the product DNA that powers Uber Moto worldwide.
Job Responsibility:
Define the Research North Star: Serve as the global domain expert for Moto UXR, architecting a research strategy that harmonizes Earner, Rider, Safety, and Marketplace perspectives
Pioneer Methodologies: Lead end-to-end foundational and evaluative research
pioneer and adapt new frameworks for the unique challenges of two-wheel mobility
Strategic Influence: Identify and drive high-impact, cross-vertical research that shapes product roadmaps and business decisions at both program and portfolio levels
Deep Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as a strategic consultant to Product, Design, Engineering, Data Science, and Ops, ensuring the user’s voice is the heartbeat of our long-term vision
Evangelize Insights: Synthesize complex data into compelling, actionable narratives that cultivate user empathy and drive decisive business action across the organization
Global Impact at Scale: Collaborate with regional hubs to scale insights worldwide, ensuring that local market nuances are captured while maintaining a cohesive global product strategy
Elevate the Craft: Provide research leadership and mentorship, reviewing work and setting a high bar for quality and rigor across the entire UXR community
Balance & Resilience: Navigate a fast-paced environment by balancing immediate product needs with long-term safety imperatives and business sustainability
Requirements:
Native-level fluency in written and spoken English
BA/BS degree in HCI, Psychology, Computer Science, Design, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of professional experience in UX Research, with a portfolio showcasing mid-to-large scale projects
Deep expertise in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods
Demonstrated ability to communicate findings concisely and persuasively to diverse audiences
Nice to have:
Direct experience conducting international research and managing products with significant global footprint
Background in safety-critical systems, transportation, or high-risk environments where research quality saves lives
Proven ability to influence strategy across multiple product verticals and partner effectively with senior executive leadership
MS or PhD in HCI, Human Factors, Psychology, or a related field
Strong statistical analysis background to complement qualitative insights
Experience in formal or informal mentorship, helping other researchers grow their craft and impact
