Job Description:

As a senior member of Olsson’s Roadway team, you will play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of transportation and infrastructure projects that support safe, efficient, and sustainable communities. This position is intended for an experienced roadway technician/designer who brings strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and project managers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of transportation and infrastructure projects
  • Take ownership of roadway design and production tasks from concept through construction
  • Apply advanced CAD and design skills to develop roadway layouts, alignments, profiles, typical sections, and construction documents
  • Ensure compliance with applicable design standards, agency requirements, and project goals
  • Work closely with engineering staff to translate design concepts into clear, accurate, and constructible plans
  • Coordinate design elements across disciplines, resolve design challenges, and proactively identify potential issues related to constructibility, phasing, and maintenance of traffic
  • Assist with quantity calculations, cost estimates, technical memoranda, and responses to agency comments

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in drafting or relevant field preferred
  • Minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience using Civil 3D on roadway or transportation projects
