A leading organization within the industrial manufacturing sector is seeking a Senior Transportation Analyst to drive execution, optimization, and continuous improvement across transportation and logistics operations. This role serves as a central connector between Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Finance, ensuring efficient freight movement, optimized inventory flow, and alignment with production demands. The position is highly analytical and execution-focused, with a strong emphasis on achieving On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery while controlling transportation and operational costs.
Job Responsibility:
Lead daily transportation planning for inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods
Determine optimal transportation modes, including truck and rail, to balance cost and service levels
Secure short- and long-term carrier capacity aligned with production and shipping requirements
Drive and maintain high OTIF performance across all shipments
Develop and manage shipment load plans within ERP and transportation systems
Oversee full lifecycle management of purchase orders and sales orders from planning through delivery
Maintain transportation schedules, load plans, and reporting outputs
Monitor shipment, production, and consumption data to proactively adjust plans
Respond in real time to supply disruptions, demand shifts, and production changes
Analyze transportation metrics to identify cost savings and operational efficiencies
Partner with operations to optimize inventory positioning across facilities
Support SKU-level inventory strategies aligned with capacity and storage constraints
Manage inventory transitions, including end-of-life SKU wind-downs to reduce financial risk
Coordinate with yard teams in high-volume drop-and-hook environments
Optimize trailer utilization, dock scheduling, and yard flow efficiency
Act as a liaison across Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and Sales
Provide analytical insights on weekly production results and monthly performance
Identify root causes of service or cost issues and implement corrective actions
Track in-transit shipments and resolve carrier or delivery issues
Review and approve freight invoices to ensure accuracy and cost control
Ensure compliance with transportation policies and performance standards
Lead and support logistics initiatives focused on improving service, cost, and process efficiency
Provide cross-functional support across transportation and logistics operations as needed
Requirements:
4-7+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain analytics
Experience in high-volume manufacturing or distribution environments strongly preferred
Proven ability to manage complex freight networks and carrier relationships
Advanced Excel proficiency, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and large dataset analysis
Experience with ERP systems, SAP strongly preferred
Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field
Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capability
Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-volume environments
High attention to detail with strong execution discipline
Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills
Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Nice to have:
