Job Responsibility:

  • Working closely with the Director of Operations to ensure the safe and efficient running of the transport operation
  • Responsibility for managing a large team, including compliance managers, transport managers and planners
  • Liaising with governing bodies (Logistics UK, CLOCS, LLCS) to represent FM Conway in governance proposals and industry developments
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s Operator Licence in line with traffic commissioner requirements
  • Overseeing the specification and ordering of new Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), liaising with internal business divisions and vehicle manufacturers
  • Monitoring Operator Compliance Risk Score (OCRS) and encounter reports to ensure operational excellence
  • Accountable for the division’s financial performance, including setting strategic budgets and ensuring they are consistently met to drive profitability

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in managing a large transport fleet and team
  • Strong background in the transport industry with in-depth market knowledge
  • Valid and up to date Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for Transport Managers
  • Full UK driving license
  • Ability to lead from the front, make strategic decisions, and work collaboratively with key stakeholders
