The Senior Trade Marketing Manager leads Valvoline Global’s Trade Marketing function for the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) business and oversees a team of four Trade Marketing Managers supporting major strategic accounts across the US & Canada. This leader will also own developing and implementing strategy for Emerging Channels, including Farm, Convenience, Grocery, and other developing channels, which represent a large opportunity for growth. This role partners closely with Sales to plan and execute a seven-figure consumer promotions budget, leading the team to design programs which will drive incremental sales for both Valvoline and retailer partners. The role requires strong shopper marketing and holistic customer campaign development experience.
Job Responsibility:
Leadership of the Trade Marketing Team & Function
Lead, coach, and develop a team of four Trade Marketing Managers
Establish team priorities and enhance capabilities across promotion planning and execution
Grow and deepen Valvoline’s relationships with our key retailers
Build holistic, customer-specific marketing plans and promotional calendars
Lead cross-functionally with Sales, Brand, Digital, and eCommerce to align plans, content, and messaging
Partner with National Promotions and Partnerships team to develop content for external customer meetings and the annual Valvoline National Sales Meeting
Own, plan, and execute a seven-figure annual consumer promotions budget
Emerging Channels Strategy & Ownership
Own strategy, planning, and implementation for Emerging Channels in partnership with Sales
Build scalable promotions and frameworks for managing a fragmented customer base
Identify whitespace opportunities and develop programs to grow promotion opportunities with retailers
Promotion Effectiveness, Analytics & Insights
Partner with Category Management and Analytics teams to evaluate promotional effectiveness
Recommend improvements to pricing and promotional strategies
Utilize syndicated data, retailer POS, and media analytics to shape customer storytelling
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required
5+ years of Trade Marketing, Brand Management, Customer Marketing, or Retail Marketing experience
