We are currently recruiting a Senior to Principal Safety Assurance Engineer to deliver a range of landmark passenger rail projects in Southeast Queensland. You will play a key role in project safety assurance in the leadup to the 2032 Olympics, and the ongoing growth of QLDs expanding rail network.
Job Responsibility
Execute Systems and Safety Assurance activities across major rail projects
Assist in tender, planning, work-winning
Ensure life cycle safety assurance and compliance with relevant codes and standards incl. 61508, ISO 15288 and EN5012x
Coordinate delivery of hazard and safety in design activities, assessments, and reporting
Guide projects through safety approvals and certifications processes
Develop associated safety cases and SFAIRP arguments in support of design type, testing and commissioning approvals, representing arguments to stakeholders such as regulatory bodies, operations, asset maintainers
RAM analysis
Mentoring / training junior staff
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar
6+ years System Safety engineering experience, ideally within rail projects
Knowledge of relevant standards: EN 50126/8/9
IEC 61508
ISO 15288
Understanding of full Systems Engineering V-Lifecycle / INCOSE handbook standards
Ability to produce safety analyses and documentation (such as GSN, PHA, SHA, IHA, ETA, FTA, QRA, Safety Cases, hazard log management)
An understanding of RAM / Human factors is desirable
