Job Responsibility
Develop, execute, and automate detailed feature and system-level test plans for L2/L3 protocols including STP/RSTP/MSTP, VRRP, MC-LAG, LACP, L2PT, LLDP, VPLS, EVPN, OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, MACsec, and CoS/QoS features
Validate Class of Service (CoS) / Quality of Service (QoS) capabilities including traffic classification, marking, policing, shaping, queuing, scheduling, and congestion management
Design and execute scale, stress, and performance test scenarios to validate feature stability and platform limits under large-scale deployments
Perform system-level validation covering high scale scenarios such as large MAC tables, routing tables, EVPN/VXLAN scale, and high interface density
Validate control plane and data plane performance, including protocol convergence, throughput, latency, jitter, packet loss, and traffic prioritization
Develop and maintain automation frameworks and test suites using Python and Robot Framework to improve regression efficiency and coverage
Analyze complex issues, perform deep troubleshooting and root cause analysis, and collaborate with development teams for resolution
Execute regression, interoperability, resiliency, and performance testing across multiple networking platforms
Track, document, and report test results, defects, performance metrics, and scale benchmarks
Handle critical customer escalations and complex field issues, reproducing and validating them in lab environments
Requirements
Strong expertise in Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols
Hands-on experience with CoS/QoS technologies and traffic management mechanisms
Proven experience in scale, stress, resiliency, and performance testing of networking platforms
Strong automation and scripting skills in Python, with experience in Robot Framework or similar frameworks
Ability to analyze large-scale system behavior, traffic patterns, and protocol interactions
Collaborative team player with the ability to manage multiple testing activities simultaneously
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (BE/BTech/ME/MTech) from a reputed university
7–10 years of experience in networking product validation, including feature, scale, QoS, and performance testing
Hands-on experience with traffic generators and network test tools
Nice to have
Networking certifications such as JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, or equivalent are advantageous
Familiarity with testbed orchestration, CI/CD integration, and automated regression pipelines
