The Senior Technician: Instrument Service is responsible for advanced troubleshooting, repair, calibration, quality assurance, and preventive maintenance of Antech laboratory instrumentation. This role serves as a senior-level technical expert within the department, mentoring junior technicians, supporting workflow optimization, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure service quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibility:
Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, calibration, quality assurance, and preventive maintenance of Antech laboratory instrumentation
Mentor and train Service Technician I
Partner with the Service Supervisor to optimize workflow, queue prioritization, and turnaround efficiency
Collaborate with the Tier IV Engineer on technical development initiatives and special projects
Serve as a subject matter expert for internal teams on escalated technical issues
Provide high-level technical guidance to internal stakeholders and customer-facing teams
Communicate professionally with customers regarding service status, repair findings, and technical recommendations
Prepare accurate, timely, and complete service documentation for all serviced instruments
Maintain compliance with Quality System Regulations and internal quality standards
Assist in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), repair protocols, and service documentation
Requirements:
Associate’s degree in Electronics or related technical field
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET), or equivalent experience
Minimum of 7 years of experience in electronics, biomedical engineering, veterinary laboratory instrumentation, medical technology, or related equipment repair
Strong working knowledge of clinical chemistry, immunochemistry, and hematology principles preferred
Network proficient with working knowledge of system connectivity and troubleshooting
Advanced troubleshooting skills in electronics, mechanical systems, and fluidics
Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as digital voltmeters, manometers, and temperature monitoring devices
Ability to interpret electronic schematics, fluidic diagrams, and technical service manuals
Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business software systems
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
