Job Description

The Senior Technician: Instrument Service is responsible for advanced troubleshooting, repair, calibration, quality assurance, and preventive maintenance of Antech laboratory instrumentation. This role serves as a senior-level technical expert within the department, mentoring junior technicians, supporting workflow optimization, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure service quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, calibration, quality assurance, and preventive maintenance of Antech laboratory instrumentation
  • Mentor and train Service Technician I
  • Partner with the Service Supervisor to optimize workflow, queue prioritization, and turnaround efficiency
  • Collaborate with the Tier IV Engineer on technical development initiatives and special projects
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for internal teams on escalated technical issues
  • Provide high-level technical guidance to internal stakeholders and customer-facing teams
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding service status, repair findings, and technical recommendations
  • Prepare accurate, timely, and complete service documentation for all serviced instruments
  • Maintain compliance with Quality System Regulations and internal quality standards
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), repair protocols, and service documentation

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Electronics or related technical field
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET), or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in electronics, biomedical engineering, veterinary laboratory instrumentation, medical technology, or related equipment repair
  • Strong working knowledge of clinical chemistry, immunochemistry, and hematology principles preferred
  • Network proficient with working knowledge of system connectivity and troubleshooting
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills in electronics, mechanical systems, and fluidics
  • Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as digital voltmeters, manometers, and temperature monitoring devices
  • Ability to interpret electronic schematics, fluidic diagrams, and technical service manuals
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business software systems
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
