The Technical Project-Senior Specialist will act as a subject matter expert for VIC/TAS Site Acquisition, Environment and Design team, providing strategic advice and leadership and collaborating with internal and external partners to facilitate successful delivery of the Wireless Program Management Office programs of work. In this pivotal role, you will primarily manage a defined portfolio of CMTS, In-Building Coverage and Satellite projects for Telstra's Site Acquisition and Environmental Design across the VIC/TAS region, bringing expert knowledge and vision to every stage of the process.
Job Responsibility:
Act as subject matter expert for VIC/TAS Site Acquisition, Environment and Design (SAED) team
Provide strategic advice and leadership
Collaborate with internal and external partners to facilitate successful delivery of Wireless Program Management Office programs
Manage defined portfolio of CMTS, In-Building Coverage and Satellite projects for Telstra's Site Acquisition and Environmental Design across VIC/TAS region
Drive improvements in standards and workflows to ensure seamless program delivery
Navigate complex challenges and manage high-impact sites
Act as Telstra's voice in regional forums
Champion collaboration
Provide timely insights
Develop strategies and innovative reporting tools
Serve as escalation point for contractors and internal staff facing challenging property, town planning and design constraints
Manage interactions with landlords, State and local government bodies, Utility Managers, Road and Rail authorities and third-party site providers
Requirements:
Strong understanding of Site Acquisition disciplines including property matters, commercial leases and licences, environmental planning, civil design, construction methods, EME compliance and the Mobile Network
Extensive knowledge of Federal and State legislation, guidelines and codes of practice (Telecommunications Act 1997, Telecommunications (Low-impact Facilities) Determination 2018, C654:2000 Mobile Phone Base Station Deployment Code 2025, Land Access Network and Deployment Solutions (LANDS), Cultural Heritage acts, environmental requirements under the EPBC Act 1999)
Demonstrated knowledge of the development application process including proficiency in reviewing and endorsing statements of environmental effects
Thorough understanding of appeal rights regarding Planning and Environment Court appeals
Experience in stakeholder management and building positive relationships
Experience in community consultation
Excellent oral and written communication skills
