Job Responsibility:

  • Define and develop firmware requirements for our innovative hardware solutions that powers Azure
  • Be the liaison to our external partners (Silicon Vendors, ODM, OEM, etc.), to drive Microsoft Azure requirement to our partners and can coordinate development efforts with different Azure Engineering teams
  • Help create a long-term roadmap for Azure SCHIE firmware
  • Be responsible for bringing in systematic SW/FW development practice to the team
  • Drive programs with multiple teams located in different locations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
  • These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos)
  • Experience in GPU development /platform enablement/ firmware development
  • Experience in technical program management of complex cross-group, cross-business, cross-disciplinary projects
  • Experience and skills in C/C++ and OS internals
  • Experience in collaborating with internal and external partners to understand their requirements and translating them into solutions
  • Experience in low-level software running on hardware e.g., Firmware, UEFI, BMC, BSP
  • Proven ability to synthesize and communicate solutions to complex technical problems and resolve dependencies
  • Exceptional organization and project management skills, e.g., experience with SW/FW agile project management methodology, TFS, DevOps, JIRA or similar
