Job Responsibility

  • Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations across a range of industries
  • Examine client financial records, bookkeeping files, and source documentation to identify missing information, reporting issues, and potential tax considerations
  • Create and post adjusting journal entries as needed to align financial data with accurate tax reporting requirements
  • Reconcile account balances and assemble basic financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, to support tax filings
  • Apply current federal, state, and local tax regulations to complete compliance work accurately and consistently
  • Organize and maintain thorough workpapers that clearly support return positions and related calculations
  • Use tax software such as ProSeries and comparable platforms to prepare, review, and finalize returns efficiently
  • Communicate with stakeholders to clarify financial details, resolve discrepancies, and keep engagements moving forward in a remote work setting

Requirements

  • At least 3 to 5 years of recent tax preparation experience in a public accounting or tax firm setting
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations with minimal supervision
  • Hands-on proficiency with Intuit ProSeries or a similar form-based tax preparation system
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, including trial balances, account reconciliations, and financial statement assembly
  • Strong attention to detail with a consistent focus on accuracy, completeness, and quality control
  • Ability to work independently from a secure home office with reliable high-speed internet access
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with clients and internal stakeholders in a remote environment
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent designation is preferred but not required
