The role of Senior Tax Manager directly supports the company’s mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. As a Senior Tax Manager, you will need a strong understanding of tax policies and regulations in the USA and Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring tax compliance through timely and accurate filing of tax returns, preparing internal tax reporting, and managing tax credit mechanisms. They will also be expected to support the business from a tax perspective in new projects and activities and manage any open tax audits. The candidate will serve as the primary contact person for tax matters and will be required to establish and maintain relationships with external tax consultants and advisors. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be able to effectively collaborate with the Corporate Tax organization.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure that the Corporation’s tax policies and rules are understood and complied with
Ensure tax compliance in the USA and in Canada, inclusively through correct and timely filing of tax returns in the USA and Canada, in line with applicable legal and regulatory obligations
Prepare quarterly and other internal tax reporting, in line with Nordex Group policies and procedures and based on information provided by Accounting department
Transfer pricing: ensure that Nordex Group transfer pricing policy is properly applied
Manage the tax credit mechanisms applicable to Nordex in North America (inclusively manufacturing tax credit)
Support the business from the tax point in new projects or activities (Sales, Construction, People & Culture, Legal…)
Drive, manage and support any open tax audits in the USA and in Canada
Drive and assist in the relation with external tax consultant and advisors
Primary contact person in North America for tax matters, especially for Corporate Tax organization
Requirements:
BS Degree in Accounting/Finance, Legal or Engineering required, or equivalent work experience
MBA Degree strongly preferred
10 years business experience ideally developed in a Tax advisory firm and completed by experience as in house tax manager in an international organization
Excellent knowledge of US and, ideally, Canadian tax regulations and environments
Experience in international and cross boarder operations, especially between USA and Canada
Communication Skills: able to present findings or translate the data into an understandable document
Ability to write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas
A team player who can operate effectively within a matrix management environment
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to balance competing priorities
Able to work with time sensitive, detail-oriented material and meet multiple deadlines
Ability to travel domestic and international locations as required
Driving is an essential function of the job
Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy
Demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to safety protocols and procedures
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
Proactively identify and mitigate potential safety hazards
Properly use applicable safety equipment, including but not limited to eye protection, hearing protectors, steel-toe boots, and hard hats
