The Corporate Tax team is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant tax reporting across Robinhood’s investment funds and related entities. We support the integrity of tax provisions, filings, and fund operations through rigorous analysis, strong controls, and close collaboration across Finance and Accounting! Robinhood is looking for a skilled Senior Tax Manager to join our rapidly growing team. This role will be reporting to the Director of Tax. You will help lead our tax team to support new product launches and various fund operations in pursuit of the company-wide objectives.

Job Responsibility

  • Analyze an evolving portfolio of complex tax operations
  • Lead year-end excise tax distribution and quarterly RIC testing process
  • Lead RIC conversions and prepare conversion step plans
  • Review partnership returns and associated K-1s, 1120RIC and support 1120 filings
  • Lead financial modeling in strategic and operational tax planning on all Investment Funds and Joint venture projects
  • Support SOX processes and maintain SOX compliance
  • Support continuous improvements in tax provision processes by exercising out of the box thinking to optimize efficiency, including collaboration with internal process transformation team and other tax specialty groups
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with all Finance and business teams
  • Support the tax department in managing tax audits, payments and any ad hoc projects
  • Monitor changes in US and foreign tax law and accounting pronouncements related income tax filings and financial statement presentation of tax related items

Requirements

  • 10+ years of tax experience with Big 4 accounting firm and/or corporate tax department
  • Expertise in partnerships, RICs, investment funds, and alternative investments
  • Possess a solid understanding of ASC 740 principles, as well as federal and state tax concepts
  • Strong computer skills utilizing MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience in financial systems (i.e. Oracle, Smartview, data warehouse, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication (both written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline driven, dynamic environment
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance, MS in Tax or CPA preferred
