Job Description:

The Senior Tax and Reporting Specialist will oversee all aspects of income tax and sales/use tax compliance, with a particular focus on accurate and timely filings, and audit management. It is essential for this role to have a robust understanding of federal, international, state, and local tax regulations, and an expertise in indirect tax processes is a plus.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all sales/use tax returns and filings
  • Manage the exemption certificate process
  • Reconcile all sales and use tax accounts and oversee compliance for 1099/1042 requirements, unclaimed property filings, and personal property tax
  • Monitor state tax nexus and assist with other filings such as business licenses, state registrations, gross receipts filing, franchise taxes, and annual reports
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors
  • Monitor evolving tax laws and regulations
  • Review and optimize tax accounting processes
  • Identify and assess tax-related risks

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in a corporate tax role, or public accounting
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • advanced degree or CPA certification is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of US tax laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local taxes
  • Familiarity with tax planning, strategy development, and transfer pricing analysis is a plus
  • Experience using Vertex and/or SAP is a plus, but not required
  • Strong communication skills are crucial for effectively conveying tax information to various stakeholders
  • Analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills, and detail oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance
