The Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for supporting the company’s tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. This role involves preparing and reviewing federal, state, and local tax returns, assisting with tax provisions under ASC 740, and supporting audits and special projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of tax laws, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740
Maintain and reconcile tax accounts and support general ledger accuracy
Prepare and review federal, state and local income tax returns, estimated payments and extensions with relevant work papers
Conduct extensive research of federal and state laws and ASC 740 guidance for income tax and the tax provision respectively
Work on special tax projects as necessary, including amended tax returns, year-end planning, research, preparation of technical memorandum and verbal communication of findings with other members of the tax department
Support automation and process improvement initiatives, leveraging tax technology tools and ERP systems to improve data accuracy and efficiency
Develop general corporate tax technical expertise as well as specialized tax knowledge
Assist in tax audits and provide documentation and analysis to support companies position
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax compliance and ASC 740 with a large multinational corporation and/or big 4 accounting firm
Knowledge of United States tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles
Proficiency in ASC 740 and US compliance state and federal
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft applications (word, excel and Outlook)
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with consistently meeting deadlines with accurate and detailed results
