Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Tax Analyst to support their payroll and payroll tax operations during a peak workload period. This role focuses on tax compliance, data accuracy, and troubleshooting across multi-state payroll activities.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee day‑to‑day payroll tax functions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Review, balance, and transmit payroll tax files and related reporting
Analyze and resolve tax notices and correspondence received from government agencies
Serve as a resource for employee questions related to withholding and tax calculations
Assist with quarterly payroll tax review and reconciliation
Support year-end processes, including W‑2s, amendments, W‑2c corrections, and other adjustments
Maintain jurisdictional setups for new state or local tax requirements
Audit payroll tax data at both employee and employer levels to ensure accuracy
Collaborate with Accounting and other internal teams by providing payroll tax data or analysis as needed
Contribute to various projects or tasks as assigned throughout the engagement
Requirements:
3–5 years of hands-on experience in payroll tax or a related function, or a combination of education and practical experience that provides equivalent knowledge
Strong familiarity with payroll systems and multi-state tax processing
Solid understanding of federal and state payroll regulations
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
Ability to research tax issues, interpret regulations, and resolve discrepancies with accuracy
Nice to have:
experience with UKG (UltiPro) is highly preferred
