Requirements

3-4+ years’ experience in public accounting with an emphasis in Flow-Through Taxation
Experience with and understanding of partnership agreements for hedge fund, and private equity funds (experience with real estate funds a plus)
Experience with and significant knowledge of hedge fund specific tax issues, including but not limited to the computation of Schedule M-1s and tax allocations using the aggregate method and layering
Experience with and comprehension of private equity fund specific tax issues, including targeted capital account allocations
Experience with real estate fund specific tax issues, including REIT qualification helpful
Experience with and identification of tax issues related to international taxes and tax-exempt organizations
Experience with the preparation and review of tax work papers as well as federal and state tax returns

Prepare and review tax work papers and returns for hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds, and special purpose vehicles (SPVs)

Prepare and review investor tax documents and reports
Manage relationships with external accounting, tax, and legal firms
Conduct research and analysis on investor tax inquiries, providing appropriate responses
Coordinate with other departments and external audit firms regarding audited financial statements, including ASC 740 (formerly FIN 48) analysis
Conduct research and analysis on tax law changes affecting the asset management industry
